Over the past few years, as I have increasingly become a hard cider enthusiast, I’ve been very interested in trying a hard cider made from fruit other than apples. Being a big fan of pineapples and pineapple juice, and having recently taken a trip to Hawaii, when I saw California Cider Company’s ACE Pineapple on the shelf at the liquor store, I knew I had to try it.
The company’s website declares ACE Pineapple “the first pineapple cider developed in the world.” Based on my experience of ACE Pineapple, I would imagine others will be quick to follow. This stuff is almost too good.
My first impression upon smelling ACE Pineapple is that it smelled like pineapple and vanilla; for me, that’s about as good as it gets.
ACE Pineapple tastes almost exactly like it smells. Imagine a pineapple cream soda…with alcohol in it! It’s not particularly complex, but it tastes great and is very easy drinking, maybe too easy drinking.
ACE Pineapple tastes great! It’s not something with the complexity to sip slowly and contemplate; rather, it’s like a refreshing and easy drinking adult soda.
