I am not a watch collector. I like to have one very practical watch. I work hard, at the hospital, and I play hard with my family (hiking, sporting events etc.) I want something that will work for ALL that I do.
One day I was shopping at my local Target when I came upon the Timex Weekender.
It was perfect, for me. I don’t like the small face that many women’s watches have and I don’t like the large face that many men’s watches have. This one seemed the perfect “medium” size.
The numbers are large enough to see, which can be important when I am working. The numbers are also easy to see when I push the side button of the watch in the middle of the night, which turns on a light (Timex calls this light an”Indiglo Night -Light”). I don’t know about you, but I have trouble focusing when I am awakened at 2AM, so it’s important to be able to see the numbers.
The watch band is interchangeable with other bands. My first band was the gray band with an orange stripe. I find it to be quite sporty. I immediately purchased a navy blue band as it looks a bit more posh when I want to dress it up a bit. And, because I love the ease with which I can change out the bands I also purchased a few more color combinations. (It literally takes about 20 seconds to change out a band.)
I’m not too careful with my watch, so it has been splashed and dropped. I have not submersed it in water as I can not imagine a watch, at this price point ($36), standing up to that too well, and I really like my watch! I believe Timex states that it is water resistant up to 30M. (Someone else will have to try that out and let me know how it works!)
I like my watch so much that it is difficult not to buy another in the event that mine does break and before Timex decides to quit making them. I am trying to minimize though, so I have not yet made that purchase, but it sure is tempting.
You too might find your perfect watch, for all occasions!
